Students don't just create any board game - they need components that go with typical board games, which is where the critical thinking aspect comes in. They will write instructions, create game pieces, write content questions, and try out each other's games to make sure they work. This is a project students will ask to do again!

❯ STUDENT SNAPSHOT POEM
Snapshot Poems are a fun way for students to explore their values and learn more about each other. This activity is perfect for beginning of the year or end of the year. I used this activity for 5th grade graduation.
THIS RESOURCE INCLUDES
- Teacher information
- Link to Google Slides poem template (editable)
- Snapshot poem template - printable with blanks for students to write their rough draft
- Grading rubric
- Example poem
- Student example photos
HOW I USED THIS RESOURCE
I had my students write Snapshot Poems at the end of 5th grade for our promotion ceremony. Students wrote and typed the poems, and I took a photo of them to go on the final draft. For our promotion ceremony, I recorded students reading one stanza from their Snapshot Poem and played the video during the ceremony for parents. This part of the ceremony was always a huge hit!
❯ END OF THE YEAR MEMORY QUILT REFLECTION ACTIVITY
Have your students create a fun, memory-filled class quilt display to reflect on the school year. This resource is a great way to have a student-created highlight reel displayed in your classroom without using pages and pages of paper to create memory books for each student.
My favorite way to use this resource is to have it on display during back to school night so the next group of students and their families can see everything they have to look forward to in your class.
THIS RESOURCE INCLUDES
- Teacher instructions
- 37 prompts for students to use for creating their square + 2 create your own prompt fillable pages (for 16 prompts)
